Your New Neighborhood

In the early 1900s, an author named Edgar Rice Burroughs started writing novels. By 1919, his story “Tarzan of the Apes” became so successful that he decided to purchase a large ranch north of Los Angeles. He named this ranch “Tarzana,” and the citizens of the community around the ranch voted to keep that name when the official community of Tarzana, CA was formed in 1927.

Today, residents of this community have many options for entertainment and recreation. Lake Balboa at nearby Balboa Park offers fishing, boating, jogging/walking paths, and picnic spots. Along Ventura Boulevard, the casual adventurer can discover countless shops, boutiques, and restaurants for every taste and budget. Plus, every Sunday, the local Farmer’s Market is a can’t-miss event. Fresh flowers and produce, handmade items, and beautiful crafts are just a few of the features you’ll find there. Whether you’re more of an indoor type, an outdoor type, or simply looking for great experiences, Tarzana and the surrounding communities have much to discover. Grab a friend or two and hit the town!
